The evidence of human activity in our valley can be traced back eight millennia.

The flint microliths that these early peoples used as tools are both the oldest and some of the smallest artefacts we preserve in our collection.

The arrival and decline of heavy industry, religious fervour, war, sporting triumph and disaster through to the day-to-day work of running a home are all reflected in collections of artefacts of all different sizes and materials preserved by us for future generations.

Our collections reflect how people have lived their lives and the impact they have had on our valley over the millennia. As our collection develops and grows it will continue to record these changes and the impact that the people of today and tomorrow will have on the Cynon Valley.
